Establish a travel grant
Individuals, groups of individuals or organizations can establish a designated fund to support a travel grant through the ARVO Foundation. You determine the criteria for the winner and the Foundation will administer the grant. Learn more
Honorary and memorial gifts
An honorary or memorial gift is a donation made to recognize someone who has made a significant contribution to your life or to eye research. Whether the honoree is your ophthalmologist, friend, colleague or loved one, your gift is a tribute to their life.
When making your donation, designate the gift as honor or memorial, and the ARVO Foundation will send a note of acknowledgement to the honoree or a designated colleague or family member and list them on our website.
Join the Dowling Society
This distinguished donor society was established to recognize John E. Dowling, PhD, FARVO for his accomplishments within the ARVO Foundation, ARVO and the vision research community. Members of the Dowling Society are individuals who share his dedication for innovative research within the vision community and support the work of ARVO Foundation for Eye Research.
Individual membership in the Dowling Society requires a commitment of $10,000 or more. Spouses/partners may be added for a commitment of an additional $5,000. All Dowling Society pledges must be fulfilled within five years.
Gifts of stock or securities
You can make a gift of stocks, bonds, or other appreciated securities to the ARVO Foundation, which can provide you with a two-part benefit of receiving an immediate tax deduction and avoiding capital gains tax. The amount of your gift will be determined by the value on the day it is transferred.
Donating securities is easy - just contact your broker and direct the type of stock and number of shares you'd like donate. Please contact us at info@arvofoundation.org for the necessary transfer information.
Donate from your donor-advised fund
If you have a donor-advised fund, please direct your grant to the ARVO Foundation for Eye Research. Our tax identification number (TIN) is 52-2322462.
Bequests and planned gifts
You can make eye and vision research your lasting legacy by making a gift to the ARVO Foundation through your estate. There are many ways to include the ARVO Foundation in your estate plans, including through your will, revocable trust, retirement plan, or life insurance policy. Learn more
